The SEC releases FAQs guide on encryption assets and Distributed Ledger technology.

Gate News bot news, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently published a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document on its official website related to cryptocurrency asset activities and Distributed Ledger Technology. The guide covers multiple areas, including broker-dealer custody rules, physical subscription for crypto Spot ETFs, net capital handling of Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as the transfer agent rules for tokenized securities in Distributed Ledger Technology.

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce stated that this guidance is a "incremental step." At the same time, she emphasized that non-securities crypto assets are not covered under the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA).
