In 2023-2024, it was proven somewhat false. BlackRock, Securitize, and many others opted for a multichain deployment strategy.

Institutions value 100% uptime and censorship resistance like we thought they would, it just took Tom Lee and Joe Lubin shilling as hard as they could on national TV with DATco's buying billions of $ETH for the narrative to return.
