The octopus is one of the most intelligent invertebrates in the ocean, possessing a highly developed nervous system and amazing problem-solving abilities. They can not only use tools and open bottle caps but also perfectly camouflage themselves by changing the color and texture of their skin to evade predators.

Even more amazing is that each of an octopus's arms has "independent thinking" - the neurons in the arms can process information autonomously, allowing them to perform complex actions even without direct commands from the brain.

This distributed intelligence allows octopuses to quickly adjust their strategies when faced with errors or surprises, essentially serving as an efficient "error correction mechanism": errors are not the end, but rather a signal that triggers adaptation and learning.

Inspired by this, we may need to rethink the ways AI makes mistakes. The current AI "black box" makes it difficult to trace and correct errors. However, practices like those of @OpenledgerHQ, which achieve transparent tracing by recording the entire data flow, make it clear who provided the information and which link had an issue.

More importantly, the system incentivizes people to proactively correct mistakes: developers iterate faster, data providers benefit from diligence, and users can also judge the reliability of information. It does not pursue perfection, but rather learns and evolves like an octopus through each mistake—transforming errors into opportunities for the system to become smarter.
